Conditions of carriage
Summary of Arlanda Express General Conditions for passengers, checked-in baggage, etc.
For Arlanda Express and its passengers, the regulations in the Railway Traffic Act (1985:192) etc. and in the General Conditions for A-Train AB Järnvägstrafik apply as binding transport agreement conditions. (The complete conditions can be found at Arlanda Express' sales offices and also with agents and representatives.) Arlanda Express is A-Train's rail transport service to and from Stockholm and Arlanda Airport for passengers and their baggage. The same is valid for domestic animals in cage or equivalent packing and for guide dogs (please see below).

Tickets/Passenger transport
You shall always be able to present a valid ticket for the journey. If you are travelling on an electronic ticket, you shall be able to prove it by presenting valid identification.
Lost ticket will not be reimbursed.
If a ticket is returned prior to commencement of travel, the train fare will be reimbursed.
Arlanda Express has the right to refuse to transport any person who appears to be under the influence of alcoholic drinks or disturbs good order; and any person who, through his/her actions, puts at risk the safety of railway operations. A person refused transportation has the right to be reimbursed for the fare he/she has paid.

Baggage
Baggage checked-in by an airline company, is transported by Arlanda Express due to agreements with respective airline. Claims are handled by respective airline.
Each traveller is responsible for his/her hand baggage.
As hand baggage, it is forbidden to bring:
- dangerous goods
- firearms, unless a vital part for the functioning of the weapon is removed and kept apart from the weapon
- other articles which may result in inconvenience or discomfort to fellow-travellers or Arlanda Express, or articles which may cause damage.

Animals
Dogs and other small pets may be transported in a cage or equivalent packing according to airline regulations and may be brought in specially assigned sitting areas. Guide dogs, however, as personal help for visually handicapped travellers, may be brought also in other sitting areas.

Personal injuries or damage to baggage
Arlanda Express is according to the Railway Traffic Act strictly liable for personal injury and simultaneous damage to carried baggage. Solely damage to objects, which Arlanda Express as an exception is liable for, is limited to half a base-amount. It is therefore recommended that you have your baggage insured before departure.
Arlanda Express will not compensate for damage you may sustain by getting on the wrong train or missing the time of departure. The same is applicable when not allowing yourself enough time margin for travelling to Arlanda. If your baggage causes any damage, you are obliged to compensate for the damage in accordance with the general tort law.

Packing of bulky goods
Checked-in bulky baggage, as for example bicycles and articles for sporting purposes, shall be packed in accordance with the norms of the airlines. Maximum allowed weight per piece of luggage is defined by the regulations of each airline company.

Bicycles
We follow the same regulations as the airlines. The handlebars of the bicycle must be turned so that they lie along the length of the bicycle. The bicycle does not need to be packaged.

Delays which may occur
If Arlanda Express is responsible for delays or cancellation of train, Arlanda Express shall provide substitute transportation. If you arrive at the destination more than 30 minutes delayed by Arlanda Express and miss your connection, Arlanda Express will reimburse proven costs or agree with you beforehand on how you shall end your journey. Arlanda Express will not, however, compensate for any business loss. Information on how and when the traveller may make claims for compensation from Arlanda Express is provided or supplied by all sales offices of Arlanda Express.

HOW TO BOOK THE 2 FOR SEK 280 DISCOUNT TICKET

Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and certain campaign periods (e.g. summer and christmas), two adults travel together for only SEK 280, single journey. Bring up to four children 0-17 yrs for free.

You can buy the 2 for SEK 280 discount ticket here at the website. The ticket is not available as a specific ticket category, but when you book two adult tickets for periods when the discount applies, this ticket option will appear automatically in step 3.

Then you can choose either full price tickets (reebookable) - or the discount ticket (non rebookable).

HOW TO BOOK WEEKEND RETURN TICKET

Thursday or Friday in combination with Saturday or Sunday (same weekend), one adult travels on a return ticket for only SEK 325. Bring up to four children 0-17 yrs for free.

You can only buy the ticket here at the website. The ticket is not available as a specific ticket category, but when you book a return ticket according to the terms above this ticket option will appear automatically in step 3. Then you can choose a Weekend Return ticket SEK 325 (non rebookable) – or a full price ticket (rebookable) for SEK 460.

LOGIN
The first time you buy a ticket online, you don't have to log in. In the payment step (step 5), you are asked to state an e-mail address and a password to use the next time you buy a ticket. The reason for registering as a user is that our tickets are rebookable. Once logged in, you can easily rebook journeys, print receipts and see you order history.

If you previously have bought tickets online, this is where you log in with your e-mail address and the password you stated the first time you bought tickets.
